Description:

A forearm enters from the left edge and comes to rest on nothing. The wrist bends, the fingers fall loosely, as if the hand were laid on a surface that is not there.

The ground is a deep green, its crust of salt left rough and uneven. The arm is formed from finer, paler salt, its edges so soft they seem to dissolve. Salt, bound in a medium of the artist’s own making, holds the image together; small crystals catch the light across the surface.
