Description:

A woman stands in an open window, framed by its two wings, each opened at a different angle, and by the walls of the room, tinted by the light inside; behind her, the night is a deep blue-green. She wears a long white dress, so sheer that the dark shows through below the waist. One hand rises to her chin, the other arm rests across her body; she looks directly out of the picture.

Salt, bound in a medium of the artist’s own making, forms the walls, the window frames and the dress, and gives the gown its shimmer.
